What is a Milk Bank?
Breast milk is nature’s precious gift to newborns, but not all babies have access to it. Our hospital’s milk bank is a lifeline for these infants, ensuring they receive the nourishment they need to thrive.
Why Milk Banks Matter?
Breast milk is nature’s perfect food for babies, offering vital nutrients and antibodies.
Premature babies, in particular, benefit immensely from breast milk, as it shields them from infections and promotes healthy digestion.
Donating surplus breast milk from lactating mothers can be a lifesaving act, providing crucial support to babies in need.

Who Can Donate Milk?
Mothers whose babies are in the intensive care unit (NICU) and are unable to breastfeed can contribute.
Women who produce excess milk or experience breast engorgement.
Lactating mothers willing to donate undergo necessary tests to ensure the safety of their milk.
The Donation Process
Milk donation is entirely voluntary and involves four blood tests to ensure donor eligibility.
Once approved, donated milk undergoes pasteurization for safety before being given to babies.
Rigorous microbiological testing is conducted in our laboratory to maintain the highest standards of quality.
How to Donate Milk
Contact our team to arrange for milk collection at the hospital or inquire about self-collection with a breast pump.
Before expressing milk, ensure hands are washed thoroughly with soap for at least 10 seconds.
Use sterile containers for storing milk and follow proper pumping techniques.
Seek guidance from a specialist if you encounter any difficulties during the pumping process.

On 18th December we had admitted our baby to Dr.Vijay Mali sir's NICE Advanced Neonatal Care Center And Children's, Kolhapur. NICU. When we admitted the baby was 1700Gm and 32 weeks old. Due to the Modern and Superior NICU and excellent efforts of Dr. Vijay Mali sir and all his skilled staff, our baby's health is excellent and improving day by day. Today is our discharge. I couldn't be more pleased with the service. Dr. Vijay Mali Sir is a polite and knowledgeable doctor, much friendly with kids. I am extremely happy to have him as my paediatrician, he takes special time with his patience and remembers what matters. Also, the hospital is very clean and tidy with helping and friendly staff.

Everything about this hospital is good. Dr Vijay Mali sir is a very knowledgeable, calm and polite person. He will give you correct information about your kid and treatment for your kid.
